Last week we made the trek to Arizona to visit my dad and my brother. It took us about 15 hours to get there (which is way better then the 24 hours it takes us to go to Idaho). We had decided to drive all night so that we wouldn't have to entertain the kids the whole time. Emma did really well, Aiden was a different story. But we made it there safe and sound Monday morning.
That day we just hung out and slept as much as we could! That night Chad and Amber took us to this totally awesome pizza place. I guess this guy had an organ built that is as big as the building! It was amazing. There were parts of the organ/one man band everywhere. He plays every night, all night, and he only plays requests. Do you know how many songs he must know! It was unreal. And the pizza wasn't to bad either.

Tuesday afternoon we went miniature golfing. Aiden was so funny/frustrating cause he wanted to hold his own club and hit his own ball and would NOT let anyone help him. We finally just let him do his own thing and just played around the "hazard" as Grandpa called him. Emma lasted about 9 holes and then she was done. Carter played all 18 and then later announced that Grandpa was sad because Carter beat him. I didn't think we were keeping score, but apparently Carter was!
When we were all done miniature golfing they had this really cool play place for the kids. We spent almost as much time there as we did golfing! It was great!

Wednesday was the zoo. They have a great zoo! I totally loved it. Aiden loved making all the noises that the animals make. And Emma just complained that she had to walk the whole time. (I guess we better make sure we bring a stroller for Emma to Disneyland!) I think she actually had a good time. My favorite was the monkey land. Where you walked in and they just had the little monkeys in the trees with out a cage, it was Aiden's favorite too! Since he is a little monkey!

They had these really cool life like statues that the kids had a great time playing on.

One of the highlights of the zoo was the camel ride. It was pretty cool to get to ride it, however, my butte hurt for a few days after! Carter and Emma loved it. They thought they were so cool. They didn't want to get off.

Right now at their zoo they have the sting rays. They have tons of them and since they cut off their stingers, you can pet them. Aiden was the first one to touch them. Of course, he wanted to do it all by himself. It took Emma a while to decide that she wanted to touch them but she only would do it with me helping her. So I had to get over my fear and stick my hand in there. They actually are very soft.

Thursday day we just hung out with Chad and the kids. We went to the park and had a picnic. But that night Grandpa, Emma, and me all went to the BYU's Living Legends dance performance. It was amazing! The dancers were awesome and the costumes were unbelievable. When I asked Emma what her favorite part of our vacation was she said the dancers. Thanks Grandpa for taking us!
Friday we hung out at Grandpa's house and the kids had a blast helping Grandpa around the yard. That night Grandpa and Grandma took us to a restaurant that serves food from their farm. It was a neat little place.
Saturday we went to a cactus park. It was a little walking area that had lots of cactus and a little park area where the kids could run around and play. I love cactus. I think they are so cool, so I was happy to go and get an up close look at them. (but not to close!)

That night before we left Grandpa and Grandma made a big dinner for everyone and then we roasted marsh mellows. The kids had fun roasting the marsh mellows. And again Aiden wanted to do it all my himself. At least he was ok with standing next to me as long as I didn't try to hold his stick-he lost a couple of marsh mellows to the coals but oh well!

Thanks Grandpa and Grandma for inviting us out to your house! We had the best time. We just might have to make it our yearly February trip! It was really nice to be warm!
