Dress ups

A while ago I had said that Emma got a whole huge box of dress ups for her birthday. I have tried to get pictures of her in different costumes so that grandma can see her gift in action. So here they are:

Our weekend in Texas

This past weekend we went and stayed with Hyrum, Chalai, and girls. It has been forever since we have been able to go to their house and Emma has been asking to go for a long time. Spencer finally had a whole weekend off so we hit the road.
It was Caijsa's bday party on Friday night and then Saturday we played in the park before it got to hot. That afternoon we went to the Dallas Natural History Museum. It was awesome. They have a whole floor just for the kids. We spent most of our time there. Emma had a great time exploring all the different areas. They even had a few things that Aiden wanted to do. But his favorite was the slide.
Here are a few pictures from the weekend. Thanks Benson's for the fun time!

Caijsa and Emma at the park. Emma was Caijsa little shadow the whole weekend.
At the Museum. We have the same statue at our museum!
Caijsa, Emma, and Annicka pretending to be scared of the dinosaurs.

Annicka, Emma, and Aiden diggin' up fossils. Aiden had a great time playing in the sand. He loves to throw it up, to bad it usually lands on his head!

The museum had lots of fun interactive areas for the kids to learn hands on. Aiden liked to spin the wheel really fast. The huge bubbles where a big hit as well. Emma could never get one to go very big.
Emma loved driving the fire truck in the kids area. They also had a little farm area where Emma learned how to milk a cow! Very funny!!

This picture is on Sunday right before we were going to leave to go home. Hyrum had made us some Orange Julius and Aiden liked his a little to much. He couldn't get it fast enough with the straw so he went straight to the cup. Yummy! It reminds me of the got milk commercial.

Car Seat

Last weekend I went garage selling and found a great find. A booster seat/car seat for Emma. We were needing to get one because Aiden is getting to big for his car seat so I was way excited to find one at a garage sale and for only 5$!! It was in pretty good condition but you could tell the fabric was getting a little warn in some spots. So I decided to make a cover for the cover. I let Emma pick out what pieces of material she wanted. Here is the before:

Memories...

So my friend Emily stole this idea from someone and I am stealing it from her. I thought it was so fun and I am excited to read all the fun stories :)So you guys better do it!

Do you remember when?

1. As a comment on my blog, leave a memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you know me a little or a lot, anything you remember! If we're only blogging friends, write about a post that is most memorable.

2. Next, post these instructions on your blog and see how many people have a fun memory of you. It's pretty fun to see the responses.

3. If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. :)

Dentist

Today Emma went to the dentist for the first time! She did so awesome. She left the girl brush and floss her teeth. Then they went over and took x-rays. Emma sat very still and all of the x-rays turned out great. Then they did a fluoride treatment on her. She said it was very spicy to her teeth.Lastly the dentist came and checked out her teeth.
The dentist said her tooth looked so good. She had no cavities. Yeah! They gave her a dollar and a balloon for doing so good. She was so excited and I was so proud!

Swimming Lessons

We signed Emma up for swimming lessons this summer at the Ripper Pool. She was so excited to go but when it came time to go, she cried the whole way over to the pool. I was really worried that she wouldn't get in.Luckily she had a really nice teacher that helped her get in. The biggest problem was that she kept on getting cold. I tried to tell her to stay in the water but she didn't listen,

Emma's class: Savannah and Larissa and her teacher Miss Anna

The first day she would just cling to Anna in the pool, but each day she did a little bit better on trying it by herself.

At the end of each class they jump to Miss Anna. It took Emma most of the two weeks to decided that she would jump.Even then it was kind of a sissy jump!

These are pictures of the last day. She had so much fun today. Miss Anna had them swim with a noodle so that they could practice their strokes by themselves. Everyday Emma would come home and practice her strokes around the house: "close, out, around, and back" "chicken, airplane, soldier" She was laughing the whole time in the pool today. I think she was so excited to be swimming by herself.
They also had them jump off the diving board since it was the last day. Well, they all tried to walk out there but everyone chickened out. It was funny cause they all really wanted to do it but it was just to scary for them. So finally one of the life guards just lowered them down with the noodle. Hey, whatever works!
Emma loved her swimming lessons and can't wait to do it again. However, she has informed me that she wants a princess swim towel for her next swim lessons. Let's see if she remembers :)

Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My!

Yesterday we were able to go to the zoo in the afternoon. It was such a nice day, not to hot only about 95 :) It seems like every time we go there, there is one thing that is the highlight and we spend most of our time there. This time it was the bears. We have both grizzle bears and black bears. The black bears came to our zoo as babies that had been found in the wild with no mom. They were so sad looking. It has been fun to watch them grow over the last year or so. They are huge now and their fur is beautiful where as before it was so patchy. We spent most of our time watching the bears since they were right at the window. At fist Emma didn't want to sit by them but once she realized they couldn't get her she kept wanting her picture taken by them.

Sorry the picture is not the best. The sun was shinning just right to make it glare on my camera. This was the best one.
Aiden slept through most of the zoo. But he did wake up for the play ground. He had a great time playing in the bark. He was even really good about not putting it in his mouth.

Fun stuff

So I know that I have been posting a lot lately. There are a couple of reasons why-1st is because my kids are so dang cute! I love watching them play together. Aiden wants to be every where that Emma is and Emma wants Aiden to do whatever she says!! And so far it is working out nicely-I am sure that will change. Reason #2 is that Spencer is back on a rotation that he is on call at the hospital every third night. So I have to keep my self busy at night so I don't scare myself.

There are a few things that I have forgotten to mention, so here is a little update of our lives:

Like I said Spencer is on a new rotation and he will be starting a new rotation every month from now until Nov. I told him I would hate his job cause it is like the first day of school over and over and over again! Anyway, right now he is doing ped surg-basically he helps with surgeries on little kids all day and sometimes all night. He really enjoys the surgery part but I think sometimes it bothers him that they are so small.

Emma is as cute as can be. However, I think that we are starting the terrible two's at three. She has thrown so many fits and thinks that she can have what ever she wants. It is crazy! But over all she is still a dang cute kid. Right now she is in gymnastics-which ends next week. She is doing great. She wants to practice all the time. And she is in swim lessons. I will be posting the swim lesson pics next week after it is all over. I thought I would take some pictures from a few different days to see the improvement. But the one thing that she can't wait for is dance class-I guess that means I better find one quick!

Aiden is now 10 months and crawling all over the place. He can pull himself up on to anything. It is causing a few problems during nap time but hopefully he will figure out that he just needs to lay down and go to sleep! He got his first tooth about two weeks ago, and I have been trying since then to get a picture of it but no such luck. And now tooth #2 is coming in. Maybe tomorrow, since Spencer will be home, we can pin him down and get a picture of the tooth.Wish me luck.

I am staying busy with my kids and all my little projects that I like to start. My sister, mom, and myself are going to have a booth at some craft fair in IF. So I have been busy making cute things for that. Also, I am in charge of our wards Pioneer Party next week so hopefully that turns out good. I am also the Achievement Day leader of my ward so I try to have fun, uplifting things for my girls to do twice a month. And on top of everything else I am trying to get caught up on my scrapbook. I am only 6 months behind!

Anyway, I just wanted to give a sorta quick update of what we are doing. Hope I didn't bore anyone :)
Here are a couple of pictures of Emma and Aiden playing train. Like I said Aiden wants to be were Emma is and Emma wants Aiden to do what she says!

Chick-fil-A

The other night we went to Chick-fil-A for dinner. Emma wanted Aiden to come and play, which meant that I had to go up there. Aiden wasn't a huge fan, but Emma thought it was great.

Happy Fourth of July!!!

This year I am very thankful for the country we live in. At church on Sunday we sang The Star-Spangled Banner and I couldn't help the tears that came to my eyes. It made me realize how truly blessed we are. I am so grateful for the men and women who serve our country. I am glad that I am able to raise my kids in America where I know that they can be anything they want to be.
This year we went to the Bethany parade. Emma loved it. Her favorite part was seeing here babysitter Heather marching. Aiden liked the fire engines and police cars. After that I think he was just hot and tired cause he ended up sleeping for most of it.

Spencer trying to keep Aiden happy while waiting for the parade to start.

The kids with their flags. Emma waved hers the whole time, Aiden's lasted for the picture!

I thought it was cute how patiently Emma waited for it to begin. Luckily we were smart this year and sat at the front of the parade.

Happy Fourth of July everyone!

Drive in Movie

Last night we had a little pre 4th of July party with the "other" Spencer (as Emma calls him), Steph and Sofie. We had wanted to go to this river party but didn't quite get there. So we opted for the next best thing, the Drive In. We saw Kungfu Panda and the Hulk. They were both really good movies. Emma loved the Panda movie-she was yelling "go Panda" when ever he was fighting.

Emma, Sofie , and Aiden waiting for the movie to start...

Aiden fell asleep during the first movie, Emma made til the start of the second movie, and Sofie never fell asleep!!

Ripper Park

There is this fun little swimmming pool close to our house that we have now been to two days in a row. The kids really like it cause they have a kiddy pool that Aidne can crawl around in. His favorite however, is to crawl to the side and then stand there the whole time. Emma loves to dump water out of the pool with her cups. Today she wasn't feeling very good but she still wanted to go since Spencer got home early. Needless to say, she was not ok with me taking her picture. Oh, well, I am sure there will be plenty of chances to get her picture.

My new favorite thing is to put on videos. So here is one at the pool. There is a little girl that kept coming around Emma-I think she wanted Emma's cup.
