Driveway Sledding

This week we had our first "big" ice/snow storm of the year. It wasn't to bad but we did lose power for about an hour Monday night. I tried to turn it into a fun adventure but Emma was nervous the whole time. She kept saying "I wish dad was home", I did too!
They canceled school yesterday and today. Today it is pretty nice outside so we went driveway sledding with our neighbor. As most of you know, the driveways in OK are pretty steep. Which is not fun when you are trying to drive up after a ice storm. However, it makes for the perfect hill to sled down after the ice storm.

At first Aiden wasn't to sure about everything. He just kinda stood off to the side and watched. But soon he starting to like going down the hill with Emma or me. And after a while he thought it was a blast to chase Emma and Talen (our neighbor) down the hill.
Talen was super nice to let us use his sled. He had a great time pushing us all down the hill.
Emma had a great time sledding. She sometimes would get all turned around and would be laughing her head off. She even got brave enough to go down on her tummy.

I even got in on the action. It was actually a lot of fun and since it was slick you got going pretty fast. The best thing was that you didn't have a huge hill to try to climb up after!

Zoo Days 2009

One of the reasons I love Oklahoma are days like these. I love that in the middle of January it gets nice enough to have a day at the zoo.

Emma always likes to go to the zoo park first. Aiden has now decided that the best way to go down a slide is face first.

All over the zoo they have these cool statues. Emma decided that we needed to stop and take a picture at each one. Here are just a couple.

The gorilla family.

Duck, Duck, Goose?
It was a great day and the kids had a blast. I already can't wait for the next nice day to play outside.

Sorry!

Sorry about the back drop. I was trying to get a cute new one and instead erased it! And of course, the cutest blog page were I get my backgrounds in not working right now. So you will just have to live with the boring white for a while!

Emma is a Sunbeam and Aiden is 16 months

I can not believe that Emma is a Sunbeam. She has been so excited to go to primary for a long time. We got her her own BOM with her name on it and I made her a scripture bag to put it in. I was going to give it to her for Christmas but then I thought she might not be as excited about it with all her other toys so we waited til today. She was so excited when she opened it up!
I totally didn't think that she would have a problem going in to primary. But when I went to leave she started to cry. I think it was because it was a little crazy, they didn't have enough chairs so she had to sit by herself on the side, and because other kids where crying. I ended up staying for a few minutes and then I left. They said she was totally fine after that. After class she told me that she gets to go to two classes and the she was a good listener.
I am so excited for her to be in primary, I know she is going to love it!

Aiden had his 15 month check up on Friday, even though he is almost 16 months! They said he looks really good. He weighed 24.5 lbs which puts him in the 50 % range for his age but on his height he is 32" so he is in the 75% range. It is funny to me cause he is pretty much the same as Emma and she was always in the 90% range. I guess they expect boys to be bigger!
He is becoming such a little man. He can say quite a few words. Right now his favorites are ball and down. Which he will yell at you until you get him down. He loves to throw balls around, jump on his tramp, copy everything that Emma is doing, talk on the phone, and he starting to really like playing with his trucks. And finally he has more then 2 teeth. He got 3 teeth over Christmas break and he is working on a couple more right now.

Happy New Years!!!

Happy New Years Everyone! We started the year off great with spending the day at the OKC Omniplex. If you have never been or it has been awhile, I would recommend going. We had a total blast. We were there all day and my kids loved every minute of it.
First, sorry about the crazy pictures. I wanted to do them small and then line them up next to each other but for some reason it wasn't working for me so this is what you get!
We started off by hitting the kids area, where the kids had a blast in the play house, train tracks, building blocks. rocket slide, water area, tractor, and fire house. Spencer also really liked this area cause it has some puzzles that were pretty tricky to figure out. So he spent his time trying to figure them out!
Emma and Aiden in the water area. They could play in the water or take a pretend boat ride. (It was impossible for me to get them both looking at me cause there was so much stuff going on)
Hanging out in the real tractor. Emma had a great time playing with all the switches and Aiden thought he was pretty cool driving it.

Their favorite part of the kids area was the play house. Aiden spent the hole time on the phone!
There was a really cute little fire house that they could climb up the stairs and then slide down the fire pole. By the end Emma was able to slide down by herself. Aiden just liked climbing up the stairs and then jumping to Spencer!
They also had this awesome tree house area that Emma loved (Aiden slept through this part). They had this killer slide that was so high up and you went around and around so many times, that you were totally dizzy when you got to the bottom. Emma loved it! We went so many times that it gave us each a headache. She even had the guts to go by herself a couple of times, which was hilarious cause she came down in a different position every time!

Emma by herself.

Spencer and Emma

Me and Emma.
Here is Emma on the rope swing that they had. She was laughing so hard cause it kept on almost tipping her off.

There favorite thing, I think, was in the "tinker room" or that is what we called it. They were able to use paper plates and cups, cut them to see which way would make them fly the best, and then put them in this tube that had air blowing up it. I think Aiden could have stayed there all day putting those cups in and watching them fly up.

Spencer and Emma had a great time trying to figure out how to cut the cups and plates to get them to fly the best.

They had so much to do,it was amazing. We went to the gymnastics area where the kids ran and flipped and jumped on mats. The space area where Spencer and Emma went on a space ship ride (Spencer had the camera in his pocket for this one so there are no pictures!). A Science lab where they blew stuff up. And so much more I can't even remember! What a great day!
