Cardboard Boat Races

You read it right. Cardboard Boat Races. Spencer and some of his resident friends signed up to enter the 1st annual Cardboard Boat Races at Lake Arcadia. They worked every night for the last week or so trying to get it all put together.

Here is the finished project. The boats name was P.O.S., it really stands for Phi Sigma O-something or other!
Not to shabby I would say. However, compared to some of the others it was a little shabby! :)

The race was the trial run and the final run for the boat. Good luck guys!!
I didn't get any pictures of the race because I was to busy video taping it. I thought that would be funnier to see then pictures.
The guys did awesome. They got third place! I think they could have won but they got a little tied up on the turn around. They will have to work that out for next year.
After the race they had a Demolition Derby. It was the best part of the race. It was so funny watching all the boats ram into each other and then slowly start sinking. The guys held their own for awhile.

But once they started taking on water, the poor boat didn't have a chance.

The guys (plus a couple of kids), on their way in from sinking.

What is left of our P.O.S. boat!!

Eddy, Chris, Spencer, James, Brian, and Ryan.

They even got interviewed by a local newspaper. So if it makes the print, I will post it!!

Meet the Teacher/1st Day of School

On Wednesday Emma had her "Meet the Teacher" day. So we got all dressed up and headed over to her new school. She will be going to Ralph Downs home of the Roadrunners. I am super excited because it is a really nice school and the PTA seemed awesome. I can't wait to be involved in all the fun activities.

Emma goes to the AM Pre-K and her teacher is Mrs. Sorey. She was so nice and cute. She had some really fun things in her class. I know that Emma is going to love her.
This morning was the big day. I had to wake up both of the kids at the crack of dawn. But as soon as I reminded Emma about school she was up and ready to go. She wanted to wear her new "Christmas" dress from Grandma Mitchell. She looked so cute and so grown up. The backpack that she picked out is huge on her, oh well!
During the first hour of class there was a parent orientation, so I dropped Aiden off at my neighbors so that I could actually listen. They had everyone meet in the classroom and then the kids headed down to the library to watch a movie, while Mrs Sorey gave us a quick overview of the year. She has some really fun things planned. I am very happy that Emma has such a good teacher.

When I picked up Emma she said that she had a really fun time, that she didn't get to play with all of the toys yet and that she is super excited to go again tomorrow. Yeah!

Sautter Family Reunion

This past weekend we had our 6th annual Sautter vacation and as always it was a total blast. This year Brant and Macy were in charge and they did an amazing job! Thanks guys for all your hard work.
We stayed at a cabin in Bear Lake. If you have never been there you need to go. It was awesome! The water was so clear and the beach was so much fun!!
I couldn't find my camera for most of the trip but I did have it for the beach day. And I am glad cause it was the best!
We enjoyed splashing in the water. It was really shallow for a long ways out, so it was fun to walk out far and still be able to touch.

The kids had fun taking turns getting buried in the sand.

And we had a castle building contest. Spencer worked really hard to get it just right!
It was definitely the best day. The weather was awesome and everyone had so much fun. I can't wait to go there again!

Hanging with Grandma...

We have been pretty busy the last couple of days. On Sunday we went to church and then headed over to my sister Melodee's house for dinner, homemade bread, and cookies.

Grandma, Italia, Emma, and Aiden enjoying the yummy cookies.

Monday we headed over to a new park for fun and food. It was really nice and I loved that there was no bark.

Our little monkeys: Aiden, Italia, and Emma

Today we headed up to Rexburg to see the temple and play at the new splash park. This is the first time I have seen the Reburg temple and it was so beautiful. We walked all around and enjoyed all the beautiful flowers. Aiden kept on saying that "the boy(meaning Moroni) fall and bunk head!"

Then it was off to the splash park. It was so much fun! It totally puts our splash park to shame! Emma and I had a great time going on all the slides and running around. Aiden didn't like it-big surprise- but I still made him go on the slide once.
Grandma trying to get Aiden to get a little wet.

After going down the slide, Aiden was still mad at me for making him go!

Warming up and drying off before we ate lunch.

They have a Carousel right next to the park so Grandma gave all the Sautter cousins a dollar to ride it. It was super fun for all the kids.

Emma, Grandma, and Caijsa

It was a fun filled day with no naps so you would think my kids would be asleep by now-but oh no, they are still going strong even though it is after nine!!!
Spencer is coming tomorrow and then we will head out for the Sautter reunion. It should be lots of fun. And the kids and I are so excited to see Spencer!

Snake River Youth Jam

Friday we headed down to the Green Belt for their annual Youth Jam. If you live in IF you should totally go! It was fun and free. If you go you need to bring a old shirt or have them wear clothes that can get dirty, cause they will!!

Aiden playing the huge xylophone.
Trying to hula hoop. I even got in on the action-I did pretty good for an old lady.

Painting on the graffiti wall.

Making noise, I mean music...

Emma and Italia got their faces painted so Aiden wanted his. I was totally surprised that he sat still for that long.
Aiden got a spider and Emma a butterfly.

We were able to make lots of fun crafts. The only bummer part, it was pretty cold. Who would of thought we would need jackets in Aug! Good thing I came prepared.

Hanging with Grandpa...

Well, we made it to Idaho and we are having so much fun. The first two days we spent with Grandpa Dance. They had so much fun playing at his house, Emma loved all of Draedyn's toys and Aiden loved the two planes that we found at the bottom of her toy box (luckily).

We went to the park in Grandpa's neighborhood and enjoyed the nice cool weather.

Emma and Grandpa swinging.

Aiden enjoying the view from the top of the hill. It was fun rolling down and running down. Coming back up-

not as much fun! I can totally tell the difference in the altitude- I could hardly breath by the time I got to the top.

That night my sister came over and the kids had the best time running around with their heads cut off. The best part was getting horsey rides from Ben. Well, until Draedyn fell off, pulled Emma with her, and Emma's big head gave Draedyn a big goose egg. Bummer

Then it was bath time...

The next day we headed to the zoo. Aiden loved the tigers and lions. You are super close to them so they looked extra huge!
We had a great time with Grandpa and now we are off to spend time with Grandma
