Fun inthe Sun

Date night was at Kim and Tommy's house on Saturday and they had a party. Emma had a lot of fun and so did Aiden-some of the time. I am not sure what is up with him lately but I am ready for it to stop!
Aiden, Nathan, and Jakey jumping on the tramp.

Emma and Aiden enjoying their snow cones.

More trampoline. Aiden loves the tramp as long as he is the only one jumping high!

Jaycie, Emma, and Margie-the three amigos!

Going down the slip 'n slide. Maybe someday my kids will be brave enough to actually slip down the slide!!

Thanks Kim and Tommy for putting so much work into date night. It looked like lots of fun!

Graduation Dinner

Last night was the big graduation dinner for the chiefs that will be moving on. It is always a fun night and a great excuse to get all dressed up. The food was pretty good-usually it is better but you really can't complain when it is free!! But at least the company was awesome. I always have so much fun talking to all the other wives. The whole time I just kept on thinking we only have two more of these! I am way excited for Spencer to be a 3rd year and all the cool things he will get to do-hopefully.

Happy Father's Day

We had a great Father's Day today. Spencer got to sleep in this morning (which he hasn't done in I don't know how long). Emma was so excited to give him his present-even though she had know idea what it was. That we finally went and woke him up at 8 to open it up. She had spent all Saturday evening making him a card and we had bought him some thing that is suppose to clean off the headlights of our cars. Then for dinner he wanted to steak, so he ended up making his own Father's Day meal but it was very tasty! At Primary today the kids made their dads these M& M bow ties. Doesn't he just look handsome! :) Thanks Laurie, it was a way cute idea.
Our lovely family photo.

This evening Aiden was a wild man. He ran around with this eye patch on, a hat, and a sword and yelled "Pirate. RRR Matey!" it was to funny!

Just a shout out to all the dads in our lives. Thanks so much for all you do for us! We love you guys and miss you guys tons!

Emma is 4!!!

After a week long celebration it was finally Emma's real birthday. She was so excited when she woke up cause she was finally 4. She was been waiting to turn 4 forever!! She is the best daughter a mom could ask for and I love her to pieces.

We ended up opening her presents from the Grandparents on Monday night because it is the only night this week that Spencer will be home. She loved everything she got. So, thank you!
And then on Tuesday we meant up with some friends at McDonald's for dinner, face painting, ice cream and playing. It was lots of fun!
Don't you just love her pictures? My friend Kristen took them and she did a fabulous job. Thanks again Kristen!

Princess Emma's Royal Party

You are invited to a Royal Ball in honor of Emma Lynn turning 4!!

Emma had a great birthday party on Friday night. We had all the kids dress up in their Royal Ball attire to come and celebrate with us.
They entered the castle on a rose covered pathway that lead them to the backyard. While we were waiting for all of the royal guest to arrive they colored a wooden castle. After everyone had arrived we began our journey.

Princess Emma and Prince Aiden waiting the arrival of our royal guests.

First we had to go and find the "King's lost Treasure". I had hide a whole bunch of gold rings and coins in our sand box that the kids had to dig through to find and return to the king.

Next we had to slay the dragon by throwing water balloons at him. Unfortunately, the dragon was to strong and the balloons wouldn't pop! Good thing we have poky grass to pop them for us!
And for being such brave dragon slayers (minus Aiden who would not come close to the dragon)they each were awarded some of the Kings royal jewels.

Last they had to go and save the Princess, Queen, and King from the tower by throwing a Bing bag through each hole. When they had saved them all, they were awarded with more of the King's jewels.

After the games Emma opened her presents. She received some awesome presents and she has had a blast playing with them. So, thank you to all the Queens who bought them for her :)

Prince Aiden playing with the barbie car that Grandma Mitchell got Emma.

Next was the cake, or should I say cupcakes. Emma wanted a jewelry cake so we opted for cupcakes with huge rings in them. They turned out super cute.

I thought I had everything under control until I handed Emma a cupcake and she kindly reminded me that she gets the one with the candle and that we still need to sing to her! So here she is waiting for us to light her candle and sing.

It was super hot so the frosting melted all over every one's face!

The Royal Gang:
Joby, Jackson, Londynn, Isabell, Jaycie, Margie, Emma, and Sofie

Emma's ladies in waiting: Jaycie and Margie

The handsome princes: Joby and Jackson

The party turned out so awesome and Emma had the best time. And of course, she is already planning next years party!

What do you do in the summer time...

One of our favorite things to do in the summer time is to go to the drive in. So on Friday night we packed up the car with pillows, blankets, chairs, and goodies and headed out. They were showing "Night at the Museum" and "Star Trek" , the movies don't even start til 9 so you would think that my kids would fall asleep during the first movie. Oh, no! They were having way to much fun for sleep. In fact, Emma fell asleep about 30 min into the 2nd movie but Aiden held out till 12:30! But when he fell asleep it was in mid sentence and he just crashed! It was hilarious!!

Emma had her first recital last night. It was a total proud mom moment to see her out there dancing and loving it! She was so cute and did a pretty good job. Thank you to everyone for coming and supporting her. I know it meant a lot to have her friends there, so thanks again!

Emma on stage. I asked some friends to email me pictures they took of them on stage, so if I get some better ones I will post them. Emma is the 5th from the left.
Giving everyone big hugs after the recital. She was very excited for all the flowers she got. She told me today that she was the winner cause nobody else got as many flowers as her :)
