Emma's Gymnastics

On Tuesday Emma had her first gymnastics class. This is her third time taking gym and she really likes it. Plus it is a nice break from dancing. Sorry the pictures are a little dark, you have to take them through a net thing!

Aiden really likes when Emma goes to gymnastics too. They have a great play area for the brothers and sisters who aren't in gym. The balls where his favorite, of course. But by the end he was going down the big slide all by himself.

Martin Nature

Friday was Spencer last day of his Baptist rotation so we took advantage of his early day. We decided to head to Martin Nature Center. It is a great little hike for little ones cause it is not hard and not very long. Aiden ran most of the way, you could tell he was pretty tired by the end.
They have this bridge that you can get turtle food (make sure you bring 25 cents) to feed the huge fish and tons of turtles. Aiden loved it! But for some reason it made Emma nervous.

The hike goes past a little creek area that we decided to dip our toes in. The kids didn't like the moss under their feet but I thought the cold water felt wonderful.

There is a look out spot where you can try to see birds. There was one little bird flying around the bird houses so Emma got all excited. I think this was her favorite part.

Memorial Day

We had a great Memorial Day today. We decided to stay with tradition and go to Harvest Hills for a picnic BBQ and splash park fun. There was quite a turn out, us , the Martins, the Brewers, the Olsens, the Eddlemans, the Cantwells, and the Reddings. Needless to say, we had lots of food and the kids had so much fun playing with each other.
Kaylee was such a great babysitter to ALL of the kids. I know I was very grateful that she was there! Here are the kids getting ready to do a cheer.

Sneak Peek

Just wanted to give you a little sneak peek of all the fun to come with Emma's dance recital. Don't forget that it is June 2nd, and everyone is invited!

Our little garden

We decided that we wanted to grow a garden this year. We have a very little area in the back that we thought we would try out as our garden but there just wasn't a ton of room. On Saturday we went to a ward activity about gardening and Bro. Welch gave was a great idea to intermingle our veggies with our flowers, so that is what we did. Our backyard has pumpkins (for our ward pumpkin growing contest), tomatoes (we want to make homemade salsa and spaghetti sauce), and green beans. In our front yard we put more pumpkins (I really want to win the contest), and zucchini. I am super excited to see how well it turns out.

Bride Wars

We had our monthly GNO on Saturday at my house. I had chose to do a wedding theme because I wanted us to watch the movie "Bride Wars" . I decorated everything in white so it would look like a wedding reception. I found these awesome dress statues at Hobbylobby that I just had to have for the party. I set the table all in white using my grandma's china. Then for dinner we had Chicken Salad Croissant Sandwiches (which we had at my reception), a fruit platter-thanks Laurie, a pasta salad-thanks Jenn, and I made yummy white cupcakes with wedding bands on top.

After dinner we played "Wedding Bliss Trivia". I had gathered info from everyone and made up the questions for everyone to try and guess who did what-Jenn won. I then read every one's embarrassing honeymoon/dating story and we voted on who had the most embarrassing story-Virginia won! We were laughing so hard by the end! I think everyone had a really good time. I know I did.

The Characters

I was so excited to see all the characters. I had Laurie cut out some vinyl and I made autograph books for all the kids to have the characters sign. They turned out awesome!
I knew Emma would just love them but I was a little nervous about Aiden (He hates the Chick-fil-A cow) but he didn't cry once. He was better if he was just watching from his stroller but I wanted a few pictures with him in it, so had someone held him in the pictures and he seemed ok with that.

We went to a princess dinner with all the girls on the first night. It is a little expensive (our bill was over 200$) but well worth it if you have girls. It was so fun to see the princesses up close and have them talk to the girls. The food was awesome but the best part was not waiting in the 2 hour line to meet them! I would recommend it to anyone who is going and has girls. They also have eating with Mickey Mouse that I think we will do next time.

Ariel-the dinner was at Ariel's house so Emma wanted to wear her Ariel shirt. I am glad that she did cause they take fancy pics of the kids with Ariel (of course you have to buy them separate) and Emma totally matched her dress. The picture turned out so good, so of course I bought it! This is just the one I took.

We got really lucky and were able to see Mickey Mouse right at the first so we didn't have to go and wait in his huge long line either!

Alice and the Mad Hatter-Emma didn't even know who they were! I guess we better watch that show.

Amazing!

Ok, so I went to my friend Nikki's shower and she got the most amazing blanket. One of the girls at the shower makes and sales them. I got her card so I could post her blog for all to see. If you are going to have a baby or know someone is going to, check her out. They really are amazing! I totally want one! 

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms. I had a great Mother's Day this year. Spencer let me sleep in and then the kids brought in their presents for me. They had each made me a card and they had gone shopping on Saturday and got me two new books. I was very excited. Spencer then got called into work so he ended up meeting as at church-but not till the last like 30 minutes. The primary kids sang in sacrament for Mother's Day but Emma said she was to nervous to go up because there would be too many people-hopefully she does ok for her dance recital!
Then after church Spencer let me take a nap while him and Emma made me dinner. And really, that is all a mom can ask for, to sleep and not have to cook. Of course, he got called back in but he waited to go in until later so we could all hang out for a while. So, thanks Spencer for making it a great day!

I want to tell all my moms how grateful I am for them all. They each have changed my life in different ways and I am very grateful for them. I am also sooo grateful that they are my kids' grandmothers. I couldn't ask for better ones and I know my kids love you all very very much. As do I! Thanks for all you do. I hope you know that we think of you every day and not just on Mother's Day.
And to all my kid's "other" moms-you know who you are- thanks for always being willing to watch my kids and help them when they need it. I couldn't do it with out you guys!

Swine Flu

Thanks to the Swine flu or whatever they are calling it these days, we were able to spend some time with our Texas cousins cause their school was closed for the week.
It has been raining like crazy lately so our backyard is a muddy, muddy mess. The kids wanted to go out and play. So we sent them out and told them they could get as muddy as they wanted.Can you tell we have a bunch of girls? This was as muddy as they got. Even Aiden was not ok with the mud.

They spent the whole time playing dress ups, barbies, and having makeup parties.

Last night Spencer made them a special fort to watch a movie in. The kids thought it was great-sorry you can't see Mcailee

The Shows

I love going to the shows at Disneyland. Not only does it give you a chance to sit down and relax for a minute, they always put on a really good show.
Spencer and the kids watched the Pixar Parade-I was riding the tower of terror-they said it was way awesome.
Waiting to see "It's a bugs life" Aiden didn't like this one very much, he kept on saying "all done"

One of our favorites was the High School Musical show. They sang all the songs fro HSM3, Emma and grandma were rocking out.

They then went and picked kids from the audience to go up and dance. And with the help of grandma, Emma got picked to go. She was super excited!

But the best part was when they were picking more people for another song and they picked Spencer! We were laughing and yelling. Emma thought it was the best thing that they picked her dad. Spencer didn't think it was the great but it makes for a great memory.

Another 3d show was the Muppet's. The best part of those shows are the glasses!

The best show by far was the Aladdin show in California Adventure. It is a huge production and I was so impressed with all they did. If you go, you need to see that one for sure!
