Future NBA star!

So Aiden loves any kind of sports. He loves playing them and he loves sitting on Spencer's lap and watching them on tv. With March Madness going on right now he loves basketball so at Walmart I bought him a big basketball that he could bounce in the kitchen. Well, little did I know that he wouldn't bounce it, he would dribble it. I don't know how many other 18 month olds can dribble like this!

A day at the office

Friday at Spencer's work they had what they call a spa day. Where Dr. Miyake shows the residence how to do chemical peels on their wives. They also have some of the massage students come over and practice on us. It was very nice.
This was the first time I have ever been to the resident office. It was fun to see where Spencer will be spending all his time for the next 2 years (right now he is at a different hospital). Spencer helped give the peels on Emily and Kristen before he and Dr Miyake worked on me. It was a little painful but not to bad.

Spencer and Chris working on Emily.

Spencer and Brian learning how to give a peel from Dr. Miyake.
Here is me before the "surgery".
And here is right after. They say your face will look like you got a sunburn for a couple of days and then you will start to peel-hence the name, chemical peel.
Well, I have a spot on my right side that must have gotten a little deep because my freckles have turned black. I don't know how well you can see it but here is day one. Hopefully, the freckles start to fade soon.
What can I say, no pain, no gain in the name of beauty!

Strike a Pose

While we were at the Myriad Gardens, I thought it would be cute to get a picture of Emma by these big cables that hold up the bridge. Well, she had so much fun "striking a pose" that we had to stop and take a picture at each one. Here are just a few of my favorites. Doesn't she just look so dang cute?

Myraid Gardens

On Wednesday we went with some friends to the Myriad Garden. It is a topical garden inside a crystal bridge. They have some pretty cool flowers and plants there. Of course the kids could care less about that, they just like running around and going up and down the stairs. That is why we only go on the free days :)But we did have a lot of fun and hopefully the kids learned something new.

The gang. This is the only one that you could see most everyone.

Aiden, Emma, and Joby

One of the workers had us smell different leaves and try to guess what spice they were. This is Emma smelling the Cinnamon leaf.

Afterwards we headed outside and had a picnic in the cold. The kids had a great time rolling down the hill. Well, it was more like rolling sideways on the hill. They had a hard time rolling straight down the hill. Joby thought is was fun to "accidentally" roll over the girls.

Lake Trip

This week is spring break and even though Spencer doesn't have a "real" spring break he hasn't been as busy this week so we have been able to spend some time together. Yesterday we made plans to go the Lake Arcadia up in Edmond. It is such a neat little lake with camping spots and a great beach for the kids to play on.Emma and Aiden testing out the water. It was a little cold but they did end up getting in there for a few minutes at a time.
Emma had so much fun, she was all smiles.

Emma and Londynn getting water for their "recipes" as they called their sand creations.

Demitri decided he wanted to be buried in the sand so his dad Jeremy and I gladly helped out.

Aiden loved digging in the sand. But his favorite part was walking around with Demitri's football. At one point he walked all the way across the beach, I think he would have just kept on going if Spencer hadn't gone after him. I think Aiden just wanted to make sure that Demitri didn't try to take his football back. What a funny kid!

Spencer and I had a great time hanging out with Jeremy and LaurieAfter we played at the beach we headed up to our camping spot for roasting hot dogs and smores.

Emma looks like she is about to fall asleep! I guess she played really hard!

Londynn, Emma, Kaylee, Aiden, and Demitri
Before it was time to go home we decided to take a "hike" over to the other part of the lake so that we could see who could skip rocks the furthest.

Thanks guys for a great time. We will have to do it again when everyone can come!

Happy St Patty's Day

Happy St Patrick's Day everyone! We had so much fun dressing in all green today. Emma was super excited even though she didn't really understand what it is for. But who really knows why we were green anyway?
Emma had preschool today where they learned about Shamrocks and did some fun crafts with them. While she was at preschool the lepercons came to our house and left a shamrock trail for the kids to follow that lead to their treasure (new swimsuits for Disneyland). It was fun to see how excited Emma was to follow the trail and find all the shamrocks. I love having little kids during holiday times. They make it so much more fun!

Saturday night we had our ward chili cook off and we decorated in green since it was almost St Patrick's Day so I thought I would add to the festive colors by having us all were green.

Preschool Field trip

Today we had a preschool field trip to the Express Ranches. They have these amazingly huge Clydesdale (the ones from the Budweiser commercials) that they let the public come and see. I am always amazed at how beautiful and big they are. The pictures don't do them justice.

Aiden, Margie, Nathan, Emma, Jaycie, Jerni, and Joby in front of one of their old fashioned wagons.

Emma and Aiden inside the barn-which is the nicest barn I have ever seen!

Petting one of the mini ponies. They also have a donkey and a zebra that Aiden was so excited about. He kept yelling "brebra, brebra".

Aiden wanted to climb on the fence like all the big kids did. He was pretty proud of himself when he got up.

All the kidos checking out the cows.

One of the Clydesdale that was outside. The rest where inside where it was a little warmer. I am not sure why this one was outside in the cold, maybe he was in a time out :)

We were lucky enough to be there when they give the horse a bath. It was pretty cool to watch. Notice how the guy has a pretty tall stool to be able to reach the top of the head. And this one isn't even the tallest one there!
It was a very cool field trip and I think the kids had a great time.

Playing and Sleeping

The weather has been pretty nice this last week so we did a lot of playing outside. The kids love to play on the swing set, sandbox, and go for bike rides.
Aiden loves his bike! He can't reach the petals yet so he likes to drag his feet on the ground. I wonder how many shoes we are going to go through before he can reach the petals? :)
Emma is getting really good on her bike. I tell her she needs to ride her bike to make her legs strong for Disneyland. She is kinda wussy when it comes to walking.

With all this playing outside, and Emma being sick, she has been really tired lately. The other evening she wanted me to build a fort in her closet so that she could play with all her stuffed animals while I made dinner. So, we made the fort and then I left to go make dinner for the missionaries. I realized after about 30 minutes that I hadn't heard even a peep from her, so I went and checked on her. And sure enough she was fast asleep in her closet. She must have been very tired cause she hasn't done that since she first stopped taking naps. The fort.

Emma snoozing away.

Happy Birthday to me!!

So, yesterday was my 28th birthday. Can you believe how old I am? The Saturday before we went out to dinner with some friends to celebrate. And then on my birthday Spencer got called in, so me and the kids ended up going to Chick-fil-A :) But I was able to go and see Twilight again with Jenn and Becca and that made my day!

Jumping Bean

I just wanted to show every one Aiden's skills on the trampoline. It was by far the best present Santa could have brought. I am totally impressed by Aiden's jumping ability. Makes me wonder what his vertical leap will be when he gets older.
