Saying Goodbye...

Last Tuesday night Spencer got home from his trip to Washington. About an hour after he was home his dad called to say that his Grandpa wasn't going to make it much longer-he had had a massive stroke the Friday before and never woke up from his coma. So we started making plans on when and who would be going to Idaho. About an hour later his dad called to say that his Grandpa had passes away.
Grandpa Jensen was an amazing man. He had a very special relationship with the Sautter kids because him and Grandma had lived in an adjoining apartment for a very long time. All the grand kids and great grand kids loved him very much. We will miss him and we are grateful for the knowledge that we will someday see him again.
WE decided to rent a 12 passenger van and make the long trip with Chalai, Hyrum and girls. We left late Wednesday night and got there Thursday Evening. It was a long trip but luckily the roads were decent and the kids did really good. I think it helped having all the cousins in there to keep everyone entertained.
All the kids in the van:

Spencer and Hyrum took turns driving and sleeping:

While Chalai and I helped keep the kids happy. It was pretty bumpy in the back!!

Even though we were their to say goodbye to Grandpa Jensen, we had a great time spending time with everyone. Watching the kids play together and being able to hang out with the whole family made the drive well worth it.

Some of the grand kids: Emma, Jaxon, Jayden, Annicka, Laney, Issac, Caijsa, and Aiden

The kids were able to play in the snow:

And find all sorts of fun things to get into at Grandma Sautter's house.

These are pictures from Saturday night before we were taking off to leave back to Oklahoma.

Aiden and Spencer-trying to get some sleep before the drive.

I am so glad that we were able to go to Idaho and spend this time with Spencer's family. The funeral was very nice and to be able to see everyone was so important to Spencer. Thanks Grandpa and Grandma Sautter for helping was get there. And thanks Grandma Mitchell for taking me shopping and babysitting the kidos!

Cakelicious

Grandma Mitchell gave Emma a cake maker for Christmas. The first time we tired it, it didn't work out so good. But I guess practice makes perfect cause the second time around turned out much better! She had a great time making it and eating it. She loves that she gets to eat the whole cake-it helps that it is super small :)

Super Heros

As you can tell by all my posting tonight-we are all finally over the "sickness" and that I am getting my house and life back in order. :)
Today we received a fun filled package in the mail from Grandma Mitchell-we love packages!! She had sent some Mr & Mrs Potato Heads that the kids were super excited about and some clothes that I was super excited about. But what ended up being that best thing were the super hero dress ups.
Aiden being Spiderman- he was livid that he couldn't sleep in it!

Emma as Catwomen.
They ran around all evening fighting the bad guys. The only way I got them to sit down for dinner was to tell them it was special super hero food that would help them to fight the bad guys ( that and bribe them with brownies if they ate their dinner). Emma asked me later what special day it was today. When I asked her why she thought it was a special day she said because we got a package in the mail and brownies. I guess if that is all it takes to have a special day, we should do it more often!

Superdog Roxy-the cape only lasted about .5 seconds but she ran around and barked at all the "bad guys" the whole time they were playing.

Not so good

The sickness continues...
On Monday Emma was still not doing good. She couldn't eat or drink anything with out throwing it right back up. She pretty much just slept the whole day. By that evening we were pretty worried about her so Spencer did a little home treatment. We decided that we needed to get some fluids in her cause she was starting to get dehydrated. We also got her some nausea medicine so that she would be able to keep food and water down.
Spencer started her an IV-I was impressed with how well he did and how well Emma did. She only whimpered a little-it helps that the nausea meds make her super drowsy!

Spencer decided to wrap it so that she wouldn't have to look at it. I wasn't there for that part because I ended up getting the "sickness" that evening and spent a lot of time in my bathroom. :(

After sleeping all night and most of the day on Tuesday, Emma was finally starting to act like herself again. And I am happy to say that she is all better and asking for projects to do. Luckily for me I didn't get as sick as everyone else, so I was still able to function on Tuesday. And thank goodness that Aiden hasn't gotten it. What a bummer of a week!

Texas

Last weekend we were able to go to Texas to spend some time with the family. Our niece Annicka was going to get baptised so Spencer's parents were flying in. Spencer took a day of vacation on Friday so we headed down right after work on Thursday. It was so great to see his parents!
On Friday we went to Chick-Fil-A to eat and let the kids play around why we tried to decide on something to do. Grandma had brought candy for all the kids, this is Aiden's tongue after his blue sucker.

We decided to head to the Frisco(?) mall to shop, play, and eat. Even though I don't think anyone did any shopping :( Grandpa bought tokens for all of the kids to ride the carousel at the mall. Aiden and Emma thought it was great.

Mcailee, not so much.

After the kids played we went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner-yummy- and then headed home. Everyone was excited for the next day to play and have Annicka's baptism. Well, during the night Spencer, Gail (his mom), and our niece Caijsa all got sick. And man, where they sick! So the next day was spent with Spencer and Grandma sleeping, while the rest of us hung out till it was time to get ready for the baptism.
As we were getting ready, Emma said that her tummy was bothering her. And sure enough, as soon as we got to the church so threw up all over her and me. We were able to get every thing cleaned up in time for the baptism, but we spent the rest of the time either in the hall or in the bathroom. What a bummer. Emma ended up getting really sick and wasn't able to keep anything down the rest of Sat and all day Sunday. We finally decided to head home-hoping she wouldn't throw up and that Aiden and I wouldn't get sick. Luckily, we made it home with out anyone throwing up! Yeah!
