Firestation

We had another fun field trip with our play group. We went to the Bethany Fire station to check out all their firetrucks. It was super cool and the kids loved getting to see the firetrucks.

Future firemen: Aiden, Joby, Jackson. The firemen were nice enough to give all the kids hats, coloring books, crowns. and a badge sticker.

All Aiden wanted to do was "ride it". So he was in heaven whenever they let them get in side.
Here he is getting to drive the truck:
And here he is sitting on the "big da da truck"; it really was huge.

Grandpa and Grandma Sautter!!!

Grandma and Grandpa Sautter made the long trek out here to visit for a couple of days and we are so glad they did. We had a great time and the kids loved all the attention and stories they told.
Friday we just hung out around here since they drove all night Thursday to get here.
Then on Saturday we went to the zoo. It was super hot but we still had fun. We started out by going to the sea lion show. We have never been. I thought it was really good and the kids loved it.

Of course, the gorilla's are always a hit with my kids. Luckily we were there at feeding time so the gorillas were up close and running around. A couple of times one of them would run and hit the glass, of course that would make everyone jump and then laugh. This pictures was taken right after one of the gorillas did that so Emma is still a little scared

Grandpa and Aiden
After the zoo we went to the movies to watch Ice Age and for the boys to take a nap ( they all fell asleep before the movie started)
Then we went to Pops for dinner. It is a fun little restaurant/store. We have never been so we wanted to check it out. They have hundreds of bottles of pop every where and a huge pop statue outside. And the food was pretty good too!

It is hard to see us in this picture because you had to get way far away to get the whole statue in. I guess at night it lights up. That would be cool to see.

By the end of each day we were so tired so we would pop popcorn and watch a movie until it was bed time.

Thanks again Grandma and Grandpa for coming!!!

Edmond Museum

We had a great time at the Edmond Museum last week. I had heard about it from a friend and since it has been so hot and since it was free we decided to check it out. It was well work it. The kids had a great time pretending to be cowboys, working at a bank, going shopping, and playing trains. Aiden's favorite part was when we found all the old fashioned sports stuff. He stayed there most of the time.

Joby and Jerni

On Friday we had Joby and Jerni over to play. Well, they decided they wanted to go swimming but I hadn't told Jenn to leave swimsuits for them, so we had to be a little creative...
Joby wore a pair of Emma's knit shorts, luckily they were green. Even though Emma kept on saying Joby wants to wear my pink ones and then they would both bust up laughing. And Jerni wore Aiden's swim shirt with a swim diaper. Hey, what ever works right?

The water was pretty cold so Jerni and Aiden didn't last very long. But they had a great time sitting by each other and watching the big kids swim.

Watching the four of them play together made me realize how much we are going to miss them when they are gone. I guess we will just have to live it up with them while we can.

Chick-Fil-A

Friday was Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-Fil-A. If you dressed like a cow then you got your meal free. Well, I am all about free food so we busted out every cow thing we owned and headed out. I was totally surprised at how many people were totally decked out. It was fun to see all different "cows".
Aiden HATES the cow so he wouldn't even look at it. Emma loves the cow and wanted to follow it around. Spencer was able to meet us there for dinner. It was a fun and free night. Can't beat that!

4th of July weekend

Happy 4th of July!! We were able to go down to Texas to spend the 4th with the Bensen clan and we had such a great and crazy time! There are lots of pics cause we have lots of stories, so be prepared!!!

They have a swimming pool in their complex so we were able to go swimming a couple of different times. Emma was a crazy woman, jumping off the sides and doing flips in the water. Aiden loved running around the pool, kicking is ball, and jumping in to dad. Then on the 4th Spencer and his sister Chalai signed up to run a 5k race. So they headed out early to get signed up and we were suppose to meet them before the race. Well, it was just me and Hyrum getting all seven kids dressed, feed, and hair done. so we were a little late, but don't they look so cute? So, we missed the start of the race. But we did get to see them finish the race.
Chalai finished in 24: 30 and got third place-way to go!!! (She is the one in the white shirt.)
Spencer finished in 27:15 which was way awesome since he only has been training for a couple of weeks. It was a little weird though cause he walked across the finish line. I remember thinking he must think he has already crossed it. Well, come to find out he wasn't all the way coherent at this point.
He started staggering around so I tried to get him to drink some water and told him he needed to sit down before he passed out. Then he started to see things-he thought people were throwing balls at us- so I asked some one to get a trainer. We put some cold towels on him to try to cool him off and the trainer started asking him questions, that he couldn't answer, so we called 911 and they came to the rescue with sirens blaring and the firetruck in tow. What a site! When they asked him what had happened he kept telling them he fell and hit his head really hard. So they decided he needed to be loaded up and taken to the ER.In the ER they loaded him down with ice and started pumping the fluids. By the time Hyrum and I got there, ( we left all 7 kids with Chalai at the park, luckily there were some friends there that help out) he was doing much better. He doesn't remember much about the race or anything after the 3 mile marker. Just bits and pieces of the paramedics asking him questions and then waking up in the ambulance being scared cause he didn't know what had happened.Thankfully, after only an hour the doctors said he was fine and that we could go home. So we missed out on the parade and spent the rest of the day inside. Which was fine cause it was super super hot. Hyrum did make us a very yummy BBQ dinner that we had with some friends. Then we had a quick dip in the pool and then we took off for the fireworks. We watched the fireworks from the bottom of a hill that kids had the time of their lives going down. People had brought cardboard boxes to use to slide down the hill. We found one big enough for all the girls-and sometimes us moms and dads-to go down together on. I can't even tell you how many times they went down!! It was the best!!
Aiden did not like the idea of going down the hill so he just hung out with dad who was taking it easy.
After all the hill sliding was over it was time for the fireworks. This is my favorite part of the 4th, to bad my kids didn't think so.They ended up falling asleep cause they didn't want to watch them!
Even with our crazy morning we had a really great 4th of July. Thanks Bensen's for letting us come down and for all the fun. Can't wait to see you guys again!
