Bowling

Today we went bowling with the Johnson's. The kids had so much fun. All of them would just pick up their ball, walk to the line, and throw it down. I was impressed, those balls are pretty heavy! We will have to go more often cause it was so much fun.
Spencer, Steph, Sofie, and Luke

Emma bowling, she actually did really well.

Hoping for a strike.

Aiden had a great time running and throwing the ball. I was just waiting for it to land on his toe, it never did, but it came close!

Go dad!! They loved cheering Spencer on and would give him a hug after each time.

Here is me, I broke a 100 so I was happy!

Emma and Sofie.

Thanks Johnson's for coming with us. Let's do it again some time.

Snow Days

By now most of you have heard about our record breaking blizzard we had here in Oklahoma on Christmas Eve. After we finally made it home from the movies, the kids wanted to go and play out in the snow so bad. I didn't think they would last very long-it was super cold and the wind was blowing like 40 mph. So, I only put them in their coats, and hats, thinking they would walk out and walk back in. Well, 30 min later, they were still out there. I think by then Aiden was frozen cause he was just standing there :) They were so cold that we threw them in the bath to warm them up!

Snow day number 2 we were a little more prepared. We layered them up and put plastic bags on their feet to keep them from getting to wet. We don't really own any snow clothes since we usually only get snow once a year.

Emma had a great time rolling around and digging tunnels in the snow. She really wanted to make a snowman but the snow was too fluffy so we promised her we would try another day.

Spencer spent the first part of the snow fun digging out our car from the day before. Then him and the kids made a snow tunnel to crawl through.

I mostly had fun watching everyone and taking pictures. But I did get in on some of the action.

Aiden loved loved the snow. He tromped through every snow drift he could find. The best part was when he fell-he couldn't get back up. Too funny! When I told him he could eat the snow he sat right down and tried it out. Yummy!

Snow day number 3. We learned a little more about bundling up the kids. Emma's church coat is a better snow coat then her regular coat, and the plastic sacks went inside the shoes so they wouldn't keep on slipping.
The snow was finally sticky enough to make a snowman. The eyes are fruit loops, the mouth is 2 chocolate bars, and the nose, a carrot of course. Emma wanted it to be a girl so I found one of my hats and a pink scarf.

Frosty the snow girl:

It has been tons of fun (and a lot of work getting the kids ready) playing in all our snow. I don't think we have ever had a white Christmas in Oklahoma, let alone 14 inches of snow. I guess we better live it up. It won't happen again.

Christmas Day

We had a great Christmas this year and as you can tell, we were spoiled, again. The kids have been so excited for Christmas, it has been really fun. I took tons of pictures-big surprise-so here is just a little highlight of everyone.

Spencer:
From me and the kids and Grandma & Grandpa Mitchell, he got the rest of his bike :) new bike shoes and clips, a bike rack for his car, and other little fun things.

Grandma & Grandpa Sautter gave him tons of stuff that he was super excited about. A new wrench thingy, a nice new fleece, sunglasses, clothes, and more.

Lexie:
Spencer does such a good job for me at Christmas each year and this year was no exception. I got a new Kitchen Aid mixer (from my mom too), a new vacuum (badly needed), a new diamond ring! I was so surprised and excited!! From my dad we got the new camera. And from the in-laws I got lots of fun stuff. A new wallet, dance pants, leg warmers, clothes, jewelry, and more. My mom also got me new fun kitchen gadgets to go with my new mixer.

Emma:
She wanted a writing station from Santa and was so excited when she saw it sitting there. It is so cute and she has already used it a ton! She also got some wood dolls from Aiden, & Ipod speakers and music form us. Grandma Mitchell got her a cake making machine-it makes tiny little cakes, so cute. And of course tons of other stuff! Grandma Sautter got her a project book where she can decorate each page and make her own book. Grandma Dance got her a gorgeous new dress. Hillary got her a new Cinderella barbie and Draedyn got her the Tinkerbell movie.

Cute new hat, gloves, and scarf (I made the scarf) to match her coat.

Opening presents from Grandma and Grandpa Dance.

Her cake maker.

Aiden:
He asked Santa for golf clubs and he has been swinging away ever since. He also got a magnet boy from Emma and a spider man game from us.Grandma Mitchell got him a new football and bowling set and motorcycle guy which is his favorite and lots more of course. Grandma Sautter got him Annickan from star wars (his second favorite) and other stuff. Hillary got him a transformer and Grandma Dance got him a new church outfit and football.

His bowling set.

Trying out his new football.

Showing of his motorcycle guy.

Roxy:
She mostly had fun playing in the paper and trying to eat all of Aiden's toys.

Isn't she so cute and little?

Thanks everyone for all the fun presents. I know we got way more then what I said-I really need to write it down as I go so I don't forget-and we love everything. Thanks for thinking of us way out here in Oklahoma. We were thinking of you!

Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve Day we decided to go and see the new Disney movie "Princess and the Frog" . Emma was very excited to see it and we even surprised her with a new Tiana shirt to wear. I was a little worried about going because the weather man was saying there was a "big" storm coming. Usually, when they say that, we get like 2 inches of snow. However, when all the snow had fallen, we had 14 1/2 inches. More on that story later!
We really enjoyed the movie, and doesn't Emma just look so cute.
When we finally got home after driving for 2 1/2 hours in the blizzard, we decided to be crazy one more time and head over to the Martin's for our annual Christmas Eve Mexican dinner. We almost didn't make it cause their road was a huge snow drift, but some big pick up came and plowed the way for us.
The dinner was really yummy and the kids had so much fun playing. After we all ate we had the kids act out the nativity scene. (By this time the weather was getting really nasty so we did it super fast).
Jackson is Joseph, Aiden is a wise man, Emma an angel, Baby Cameron is baby Jesus, Jakey is a Shepard, and Margie is Mary.

Then we quickly had the kids open their presents and plied in for the drive home. The dads had to dig out a different car so that we could get out of the neighborhood. Once that car was out of the way, it was pretty easy going until our driveway. Spencer just floored it and tried to get the Lexus as far out of the road as possible.

Once we were home we had the kids put on their new Christmas PJ's from Grandma Mitchell and play with their toy that they get with their PJs-what kid gets excited over just PJs?

Aiden as Buzz ( he also got woody ones, so cute) he ran around all even yelling "To infinity and beyond"
Emma in her Tinkle Bell PJ's and new little Strawberry shortcake. I wish we had some of these toys when I was little.

The kids were so excited and so tired that they quickly fell asleep, luckily.

I'm a happy girl again!

As many of you know a while back my beloved camera died on me. I was finally able to get a new one after Thanksgiving. We decided to go with a different brand because they were cheaper. BIG mistake. I have hated it this whole time. Half my pictures turned out blurry! And then the other day while taken pictures it broke! Come on! My old Canon lasted me 3 years, thousands of pictures, and plenty of drops on the ground. This one I knocked over once-on the carpet-and it breaks. So I took it back and got my old/new Canon back and I couldn't be happier!

Introducing...Roxy!

That is right we have a new addition to our home, Roxy. She is a tiny little puppy that we all just love!! I know, pretty shocking that I got a dog but Spencer totally fell in love with her, so how could I say no? Here is the story:
Thursday night Spencer went to a family that he home teaches to drop of a little Christmas goody. He spent a long time in there (we were all in the car waiting), and when he came out, he was in love :) He was so excited about this little puppy that it made me excited. So before we changed our minds, we called them the next day and picked her up. We named her Roxy and the kids are just crazy about her. It is a constant battle on whose turn it is. She is a mix between a mini pincher and a pekingese..

Aiden is totally crazy about her. He plays a little rougher then I would like him to but so far Roxy is a good sport about it.

Emma treats her like a little baby. I was a little worried about how Emma would do- she is NOT a fan of dogs. We were hoping that since Roxy is so small she would be ok and she is. She loves to hold her and snuggle with her and Roxy loves it too!! So cute, so fun!!

Pre-K Party

Emma had her Pre-K Christmas party on Friday. I was in charge and we were both way excited. We did the Gingerbread theme and had lots of fun things planned. First Mrs Sorey read them the Gingerbread story, then we had a wrapping paper game, decorating real gingerbread cookies, making gingerbread sticker men, and a fun goodie bag with a gingerbread ornament-that I had made. It was going to be super fun. Too bad Emma threw up before I had even finished setting up :( So we spent her party and the rest of the day like this...
